Rapid Writing

by Mj Ces on May 31, 2009

To some people it’s speed writing or free writing; to me, I call it rapid writing. I’m not sure if there’s a right term for it, but what I’m referring to is writing everything that comes to your mind, without pausing and editing it. You put it down on paper or type it on your computer and post it immediately on your blog or some place else.

There’s a certain joy that you will feel when you do this. It’s because you are expressing your immediate thoughts on anything under the sun. Sometimes you will be surprised at the depth of your own thought which you have actually written.

I do that sometimes, not because of boredom, but often because I feel like writing and yet I can’t decide on my topic. I just let myself loose and write down the first thing that comes to my mind, the next, and so on and so forth. While the resulting manuscript is not a high level literature, it is still good enough to be read, not only by you, but also by others.

It gives a glimpse on your inner self, that is why some people are a bit apprehensive of publishing it on their blogs. I say, let it be and let others see the real you.

Eventhough this article is short. I do find it interesting. Atleast I won’t wait to be in the mood for writing.
