I Want to Learn Chinese

by Mj Ces

I’ve read somewhere that the key to a healthy and working brain even when you’re in the later years of your life is to keep on learning new stuff.

How? Let us count the ways.

1. Learn a new language.
2. Learn to play a musical instrument.
3. Play puzzles
4. Read
5. Learn a new skill

Of the above I am most interested in learning a new language. And being a Filipino it might make sense for me to choose Spanish. But I want to learn something else. I want an Asian language. Japanese would be one, Korean also, Indonesian, too. But I’m leaning towards the Chinese language.

The only difficulty is that I don’t know which type of the Chinese language should I learn?Mandarin? Cantonese? Fukien? Those are the familiar ones that I know of.

So dear reader, if you happen to know which Chinese language should I study, please let me know. I will appreciate your suggestion and opinion.
:)

You should learn Mandarin Chinese, which is used by most people in China, Taiwan, Singapore.

I would go with Mandarin, is more relevant and useful… and does not have 9 tones like Mandarin :)
