I’ve come across a blogger who maintains three personal blogs, all have the same content. I guess she just writes a single post, copy it then paste it to all three of her blogs.
The only posts she had that are unique from one blog to another are all paid posts. So basically that’s the purpose of her blogs: just to publish paid posts and reviews and therefore earn from it.
I have nothing against paid posts. I do it myself and it’s a good and decent way to earn through blogging. What I am against is using the exact same content on two or more blogs.

The spirit of blogging is lost. When you blog, you write something meaningful (if not for others at least for yourself). Don’t create blogs and stuff them with duplicate content because it is not true blogging. It’s a shabby piece of work and if you do it, then you should never call yourself a blogger.
Shame on you!

I don’t read and comment on blogs that are full of paid posts. I mean “full”.
Some bloggers managed to share some of their life experience, so their blogs are meaningful even with some sprinkle of paid posts in between.
We could all put down opinions in blogs. Paid review sites are the only ones around to maintain the right blog ratio of paid vs non paid posts.
Loss of readers and lack of commenters are also important indicators.

I agree that there should be a right ratio between paid and non-paid posts. Of course there should be more non-paid posts.
That isn’t right. I only run two blogs because I want to ensure that all my blogs have quality content, and posting the same content on multiple blogs is not going to make readers happy.

Well, I do this a little. I have three blogs, and if I write a post that I think will appeal to readers of all three, I’ll copy it. Most of my posts are unique to that blog though… and yeah, there are paid posts here and there. What’s funny is that I’m quite opinionated, so I have several posts that upon first glance may look like a paid post. Not sure what to do about that.

Very interesting.. Ihave 3 blogs too but they are themed, webbie, personal and political/cultural so it is not like to have them having the same content… i am curioua about this.. i also do much much paid posts but i bet my readers comment all the same becausemy paid posts is not “your regular” paid posts…

I think I’ve come across two of your blogs through Entrecard. Entrecard is great because I get to see interesting blogs.
I think there are many of those people around do this. I have seen some compalints in entrecard forum about other copying the work of others too… i agree with prior commentors on the lost essence of blogging… but anyway, it is up to them and it is up to that person’s readers to decide

Copying other people’s posts is a much graver sin.
Its another way to crowd the internet then.. but maybe, like miah, this person is on the transition process… i too decided to delete my blog until it got PR3 and i decided to maintain it… and some of my best posts were transferred and since i see also visitors from google from both old and new sites, i decided to let them stay (maybe around 2 or 3 posts) being a duplicate (but not totally because i integrated the comments from previous/older/original posts).. that means google saw them as independent and unique because bothe were indexed anyway…

PinoyCopywriter says:
If you’re just transferring the content of one blog to another, then that can be called a transition. But three blogs with all the same content? I don’t think so.
Well, I do this definitely, I call it maximizing the exposure of my content (especially if it is an article I would like everyone to read.) If I had the blogs to post this article, then I would utilize it fully. But I can’t possibly post them in all of my blogs ( I have 9 blogs), because I have also to consider the intended content of the blogs.
In fact when I can find time, I would create links from all my outside articles, like in helium and associated content, to all of my 9 blogs to maximize my readership.
Anyway, we could not judge by appearances ( these are her/his blogs and she/he can do anything she/he would want with it, as long as these blogs are decent and she/he owns the copyright to the articles). Blogging also indicates a certain personal freedom of choice, and not to be an eternal officious twerp…lol…

Tell you’re sister to write more. She’s on a great start after all.
Second, yes, it is perfectly fine to post your article to another of your blogs if you think that it’s worth spreading. But it’s a different matter when all of your blogs have the same content. Not just one article.

Hmm, I haven’t come across blogs like that yet. But you are write, ano pang purpose ng iniba-iba mo blogs mo? At least make an effort to write about something else sa 2 pang blogs.
I maintain several blogs and I really put effort in what I put in each of it. Sayang naman effort ng visitors ko kung wala silang mapapala sa blogs ko. Saka let’s not forget na Google will penalize you for duplicate content, right?
Great post!

And Google does penalize blogs with duplicate content. They’ve made it clear sa official blog nila.
I never knew that there are bloggers who maintain 2 or more blogs with the same content. I don’t think that ‘s even blogging.I think the reason why you create one more blog or 2 more is because you want to blog on another genre. Why bother create one more blog if you have the same content?

You said it exactly. It’s not blogging.
I run 4 blogs, 2 don’t do paid posts at all, one is all original poetry, no paid content whatsoever, the other is a music production company blog. My 2 blogs which do paid costs, I only do about 10-15% paid content, 1 out of 6 or 7 posts is a paid post, and even my paid posts I always try to put some useful information in the post. I actually have many comments on my paid posts in addition to my non-paid ones because I write quality posts, or at least I hope I do.
I won’t do a paid post, if I can’t find something good about the product, I don’t just do everything on PPP or SocialSpark.

I’ve done that before. I used to put the same content on my main blog (yummydown) and also on my xanga and yahoo360 or multiply blogs or in my myspace.
Sadly, I know a lot of people on xanga and myspace espically that won’t leave their respective blog hosts to visit my main blog.
I’ve slowly let off though, and my most active blogs (4 of them) all have different content.

It is indeed sad that some people don’t go out of their online social network (MySpace, Xanga, Multiply, etc) to read blogs that are either self-hosted or on other networks.
There’s a lot of them, but not to worry. Google usually rates them down in the page ranks when their bots smell duplicate pages …
Ken´s last blog post..Pancit Palabok
Sometimes I duplicate my posts on a couple of my blogs because I found from my survey on my blogspot one that most the readership does not read my PNN one so I figure these blogs have different people reading them. I do not have them exactly the same by no means, but sometimes I will post the same post on both if I feel it’s expecially good or something all my readers would enjoy seeing. Sometimes, I will post about the same thing but from a different angle or maybe emphasize different points or use different pictures.
Perhaps the person who you found that has three alike does it primarily for the paid posts but perhaps they feel it’s a different audience. I have not monetized any of my blogs.

I maintain several blogs and I can’t imagine posting the same content to each one. As a matter of fact, I wonder if I had put ALL of my efforts into a single blog if it wouldn’t be bigger than it is now.
I can’t imagine that the google gods are smiling on all that “repeated” content either!

Cool post, it is okay i guess though as not all of the online people read those three anyway so no one would notice… but you noticed it! ahahah! funny!
duplicate content is a no-no. i haven’t encountered one yet, but at least he/she should consider revising the title and some sentences to avoid duplicate content. I have other blogs. There was a time when I noticed that one of my posts from blogspot drew considerable traffic from google. So i posted another revised, retitled (with the same keywords in the post title), in my domain blog. Now both are competing in SERP.

Gawd! One blogger actually had the nerve to ASK me to link all 5 blogs AND all of them had the exact same content with paid posts the only unique content in all five of them. Frankly, I hate it when they do that. True, there is a need to make money and there’s nothing wrong with that but with all blogs having the same content? I agree…it’s a shame.
I maintain five blogs, all with unique content. I guess it’s because all of them have different themes.

i wonder how she got those blogs approved from ad networks, from what i understand they review the sites well, kaya nga me nadedeny. saka di ba goggle doesn’t like duplicate contents. like sasha i maintain several blogs too, nahihilo na nga ako sa kakaisip ng content, talagang pinaghihirapan ko, tapos me ganito, ang daya!

I also maintain a few other blogs. Kung minsan magsusulat ako ng post para sa isang blog, tapos malalagay ko dun sa isang blog with a totally different blog theme. Nakakahilo nga.
that’s one of the problem of having multiple blogs. I am guilty of it sometimes, especially when i want a certain topic to have as much exposure as possible.
but since they all have a different niche (i’d like to believe it like that), it is not really a regular habit.
we really can’t tell what could be reason for doing so. it’s always best not to judge.

I did a duplicate post just now because I’m promoting my resume referral program. This is the second time I did it in my blogs but a lot of people will see it in the social networks as I try to increase public awareness.

I’ve seen your post you were referring to and that kind of duplicate content is just fine because as you said, you were creating awareness. And it’s worth posting it on another blog. I believe it will only border the line of a bad duplicate content when it serves no higher purpose at all.
Do you know what’s worse than duplicate personal posts? It’s duplicate paid posts! LOL I’ve actually seen it done by a Pinay blogger. She maintains a handful of blogs and she posted the same paid post in two blogs.
Hi Lifetime Mom,
That would be far worse indeed.

i used to write articles for my former employer and almost did the same thing, that is, to put my articles in another blog. good thing i didn’t. that wouldn’t do me any good.
maybe what she should’ve done was to do a summary of the article then link to it from her blogs. of course, that would mean three versions of summaries, but at least it’s not an eyesore on the net.
great blog, by the way. hope you don’t mind if i put your link on my blog.

I did this before … since I have different blogs, krino-cross posted ko siya dun sa blog na kapareho ng niche ng topic… haha. I think between 2 blogs ko lang un ginawa since ung isa niche blog ko is Random blog and the other one is about Kpop/Jpop Entertainment pero di ko naman lagi ginagawa to… pero actually ung pinag cross postan ko nun walang paid posts dun infairness.
